Angie Trumblee

After spending 15 years as a nurse, where I specialized in working with the senior population, I left my job in 2020 to be home with our kids during Covid. I loved my job as a nurse. I thought that I would continue on that path for the rest of my career, but, as we all know, sometimes life happens and plans change.

As a nurse and a case manager, I was dealing with families who were learning in real time how their insurance plans performed when they needed them most. What I realized was that many agents will tell you all the benefits of a particular plan, but leave out the drawbacks. It was frustrating to see so many people who couldn’t get the care they needed, or had to pay more than they expected, because they didn’t have someone to educate them on their Medicare options and help them make the right choice.

Those experiences are why I became a licensed insurance agent–so I could educate people and continue my passion of helping older people get the health care they need. Medicare is complicated and confusing. Not only are you faced with a variety of choices between plans you don’t fully understand, but you are constantly inundated by agents and call centers all trying to sell you something. It can be very intimidating. You need a knowledgeable professional with your best interest in mind to educate you on your options, so you can make an informed choice.

I’m an independent agent, meaning I represent multiple plans. Medicare insurance is not one-size-fits-all, so I always compare multiple options to find the benefits that fit your needs.
